One thing I like about Oura, especially as a parent over the last few years, is that it tracks polyphase sleep.
If we take away industrial changes like artificial lighting, electronic entertainment etc. humans are likely to fall asleep earlier and that is validated by some historical records on how sleep habits have changed. It’s also not uncommon to have a “first sleep” and “second sleep”.
I had experimented with different forms of polyphasic sleep patterns and then I was also forced into some as a new dad 🤣 It’s been fun to see it visualized and tracked like this and to still “get credit” for the total duration across the phases.
